Inspired and named after Britain's style icon, Alexa Cheung, the Mulberry Alexa bag is proving to be one of the most coveted fashion accessories around.

 Emma Hill, the creative director at Mulberry decided to design a new handbag inspired by Alexa after seeing a photo of her carrying a Mulberry Elkington (a man's traditional briefcase)

The Mulberry Alexa bag fills the style gap between the classic Mulberry Bayswater bag and the men's briefcase and in some ways is a bag of complimentary contrasts-casual yet formal, relaxed yet structured.

 

Hill says the bag's versatility is one of the keys to it's success as it can be worn in so many different ways

 

Made from oak soft buffalo leather the Mulberry Alexa has obviously has Mulberry's signature features such as the postman's lock and brass hardware. It is also available in a variety of colours such as ink blue, buffalo, butter and oak.

 

The Mulberry Alexa is often credited with helping Mulberry buck the downward trend of the current recession with the company posting like for like sales up by over 70% !!
